What are the requirements to rent a car in Dubai?

One of the main conditions is driving experience for more than 1 year. You must also be over 25 years old. You can drive a rented car in the Emirates only if you have an IDL or driving license of your country with English translation. The rent is paid 100% in advance.  In addition, you will need to make a refundable deposit.

What is the refundable security deposit?

In addition to the rental payment for the car you will need to pay a deposit of 1,000 to 10,000 AED. The amount of the deposit depends on the car brand. If you get a fine or damage rented car, then this money will be calculated from the deposit. The deposit will be returned to you after 21 working days.

Why the refundable deposit returns only after 21 working days?

The reason is that fines in Dubai can be processed within 21 days. Therefore, rent a car offices hold a deposit during this time. If you pay a deposit with a credit card, then after 21 business days the money will be returned to you automatically. In case of public holidays, this period may be extended up to 30 days.

Is it safe to rent a car in Dubai?

What is the overlimit charge?

The limit for Luxury cars is from 250 to 300 km per day. If you drive more km, then for each 1 km an additional fee is charged from 1 to 25 AED.

How much are the average fines in Dubai?

In Dubai the fines are very high. Therefore, we advise you to pay attention to the speed limit signs. Of course, in Sports cars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren it is very difficult to control the speed. But it is necessary not to exceed the speed of 120 km / h because of the radars.

 * more than 60 km / h - 1000-2000AED (~ 272-545 $), confiscation is possible
 * more than 80 km / h - 3000AED (~ 817 $), confiscation and revocation of license is possible
 * driving slower than the specified speed limit - 200-400AED (~ $ 54-109)

What are the speed limit rules in Dubai?

The country has general speed limits: on small streets - 40 km / h, on main roads - 60-80 km / h, on highways - 100-120 km / h.  But basically the speed limit is regulated by signs.  It is forbidden to both exceed the speed and go slower than the established limit, if there is one on this section of the road.
According to statistics, 90% of tourists' fines are due to speeding.

Does the rent a car company deliver the rental car to the airport or hotel?

How many people can drive the Luxury rent a car?

Two. Both must have a driver's license and must be aged according to the rental policy.
